 The Nordplus programme 2018-2022

Nordplus is the Nordic Council of Ministers’ programme for educational cooperation. Every year a total amount of 9,6 million euro is granted to projects, networks and exchanges of pupils, students and teachers in and between the Nordic and Baltic countries.

The programme consists of five sub programmes, which cover the entire educational sector in the Nordic and Baltic region:

  • Nordplus Junior is the programme for primary and secondary education, and preschooling
  • Nordplus Higher Education is the programme for the higher education sector
  • Nordplus Adult is the programme for adult learning
  • Nordplus Horizontal is the programme for cross-sectoral educational projects
  • Nordplus Nordic Languages is the programme for Nordic language comprehension

Nordplus covers the five Nordic countries Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden – the three autonomous regions the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Åland – as well as the three Baltic countries Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

Every year approx. 7.000 pupils and students and 1.000 teachers go on exchanges to another Nordic or Baltic country funded by Nordplus. All together approximately 2.800 educational institutions and organisations involved with education and training take part in projects and networks under Nordplus every year.
