Activities you can apply for through Nordplus Adult

Purpose:

Purpose:

Help adult education staff of the partnership organisations gain new skills and cultural experiences and improve teaching quality within the Nordic and Baltic regions. The activities are most often job-shadowing, training courses or self-organised teaching and study stays.

Target group:

Teachers, trainers, and staff working directly with adult education in the partnership organisations. 
(Staff from primary, secondary, or higher education must apply to other Nordplus programmes.) 

Funding available for:

• Travel
• Subsistence
• Project management (if eligibility criteria in the section “Funding” are met) 
• Inclusion support for costs related to disabilities or health issues of participants

Key criteria: 

• Minimum stay: 3 full working days (excluding travel) 
• Usually max 2 participants per organisation (more only if well justified) 
• All travelling participants must have a formal link to the partnership organisations as employees or volunteers
• Multiple exchanges in one application are allowed, but each stay must be individually organised 
• Study trips to several institutions are not prioritized. 
• A programme with clear goals and outcomes is required 
• Visits and revisits are allowed, but not required
• All planned activities must be completed within two years, which is the maximum project period for mobility projects

Definition:

Adult learners are students aged +18, who are enrolled in/participate in formal, non-formal or informal learning activities in the participating organisations. The adult learners cannot be staff of the participating organisations.

Purpose:

Provide adult learners of the partnership organisations with new skills and cultural insights and support cooperation between institutions within the Nordic and Baltic regions.  

Target group:

Adult learners and accompanying teachers of the partnership organisations including adult learners in Continuing Vocational Training (CVET). 
(Those in initial VET must apply to Nordplus Junior.) 

Funding available for: 

• Travel 
• Subsistence
• Project management (if eligibility criteria in the section "Funding" are met) 
• Inclusion support for costs related to disabilities or health issues of participants

Key criteria: 

• Minimum stay: 3 full working days (excluding travel) 
• Activities must happen in an adult education organisation, where adult learners take part in learning activities with local learners involved, or as work placement in a company 
• All travelling participants must have a formal link to the partnership organisations as enrolled adult learners, employees or volunteers
• Study trips to multiple organisations are not eligible 
• Clear programme with goals and outcomes is required 
• Multiple exchanges in one application are allowed, but each stay must be individually organised 
• Visits and revisits are allowed, but not required 
• All planned activities must be completed within two years, which is the maximum project period for mobility projects

Purpose:

Build lasting partnerships focused on exchange of knowledge and best practice on a topic related to adult education, which is relevant for the partnership organisations and for defined external target groups.  

Key criteria: 

• Organisations work together on a common theme or challenge relevant to all the involved organisations
• Must include knowledge-sharing and experience exchange, which subsequently forms the basis of new knowledge and possibly proposals for new initiatives
• Should lead to new knowledge or ideas 
• May lead to future Nordplus project proposals 
• The application must outline:
  • The topic and it's relevance for adult education
  • The partnership organisations' need for the project results
  • A detailed work presentation of the partnership organisations and their link to adult education
  • A detailed work schedule
  • Expected outcomes

Purpose:

Develop new tools or resources to improve adult education. The developed tools or resources must be needed by the partnership organisations for their own adult education activities. Furthermore, the tools or resources must be relevant for defined external target groups. Examples of tools and resources are:

• Teaching materials  
• Courses
• Methods
• Digital platforms, etc. 

Key criteria: 

• Must be based on existing knowledge and needs. Previous projects are not to be duplicated
• The application must include:
  • A justification for the need for the tools or resources to be developed
  • A detailed presentation of the partnership organisations and their link to adult education
  • A detailed work plan, including a detailed description of the tools or resources to be developed
  • Clear goals and expected results 
• Must result in at least one shareable product, which is made freely available to the public and carries the Nordplus logo. Workshops, webinars and conferences are not considered as products since they are not shareable after the project end

Purpose:

Study adult learning systems or practices and identify areas for improvement, such as: 

• Collect and analyse existing knowledge, data, and practices 
• Often includes comparisons between countries or sectors 
• Results should inform new projects or recommendations 

Key criteria: 

• Must be based on existing research (no repetition of past studies) 
• The project results must be needed by the partnership organisations for their own adult education activities and must also have broad relevance beyond the participating organisations
• Projects usually include both adult education practitioners and research institutions. High priority is given to projects involving different types of organisations/institutions
• The application must include:
  • A justification for the need for the mapping to be conducted
  • A detailed presentation of the partnership organisations and their link to adult education
  • A clear plan with aims and outcomes
  • Details on how the acquired knowledge will be published
• Must result in at least one shareable product (e.g. a report, an analysis), which is made freely available to the public and carries the Nordplus logo
