Preparatory visits

A preparatory visit is a meeting between organisations from at least two programme countries, organised by one of the participating schools or organisations. Together, you agree on and prepare the framework for cooperation, anchor the project, formulate the project application, and develop project plans.

What you can apply for

You can apply for funding to cover travel and accommodation costs for staff participating in a preparatory visit. Only visiting organisations are eligible for funding, not the host organisation.

You may receive funding for up to two participants per organisation for up to five days, including travel days.

This applies to organisations eligible to apply to:

• Nordplus Junior
• Nordplus Adult
• Nordplus Nordic Languages

How to apply

You can apply for Nordplus preparatory visit funding twice a year. The application deadlines are 1 February and 1 October, or the next working day if the deadline falls on a weekend or public holiday.

Applications must be submitted online via the Nordic Council of Ministers’ application system, Espresso. The application form opens no later than one month before the deadline.

The application must include:

• A detailed plan for the visit
• The background, objectives, and themes of the planned project
• Each organisation’s contribution and expertise in relation to the future project

Please note: A preparatory visit cannot be combined with other project types in the same application.

Applications submitted for the February deadline receive results in May. Applications submitted for the October deadline receive results within a few weeks (no later than early November).

Report your project

After the visit, you must submit a report. The report must be submitted no later than 30 days after the end of the project period.
