Nordplus Junior
Nordplus junior addresses the field of learning for young people, teachers and others in the educational sector with financial support for transnational exchanges and cooperation. The Nordplus Junior programme opens a whole world of possibilities for children and teachers in a wide range of educational institutions.
About the programme
Nordplus Junior gives contributions to school development work through partnerships between schools in the following Nordic and Baltic countries: Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Denmark, Greenland, Faroe Islands, Åland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
Collaboration within Nordplus Junior is a good way of bringing new ideas and perspectives into the classroom. Teachers and staff receive an opportunity to strengthen their professionalism and work skills through experience sharing.
Pupils get an opportunity to strengthen their knowledge and abilities through collaboration with other people in the Nordic and Baltic countries. Meeting other cultures, languages and ways of thinking, make pupils more mature and independent; they widen their horizons and deepen their awareness about various subjects, the surrounding world and themselves.
The Nordplus Junior programme makes it possible to apply for grants for collaboration. The grant supports project partnerships, class and teacher exchanges.
It is also possible to apply for funding for preparatory visits to discuss and develop project plans with potential partners and for study visits to gain new insights. Further you can apply for development projects to disseminate and deepen project results. You can read more about that in the sections below.
Who can apply
Nordplus Junior is aimed at preschools, primary, secondary and upper secondary schools, both theoretical and vocational programmes, as well as vocational schools/apprenticeships. Extended schools in arts and culture that are part of a national or regional school syllabus may participate in the programme both as partners and as coordinators.
If you apply for a development project, organisations that work with or have strong interests in compulsory education in the Nordic and Baltic countries may participate as a project partner. They can not be involved as a coordinator.
Pupils can participate in class exchanges, teachers and other educational staff may participate in all types of activities. You can read more about the specific activities below.
Learning by doing is probably the best way of educating both the pre-school children and pupils in primary and secondary schools.
