When Nordplus processes your personal information under this Privacy Policy, The Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR) acts as the main coordinator for Nordplus and is considered to be the “data controller” of your personal information for joint communication channels, programme coordination, and maintaining the Nordplus website. The national agency responsible for each sub-programme is considered to be the “data controller” of your personal information.

Personal Data We Process

Application details (name, email, address, gender), educational and professional information, financial data for grant payments, project-related data, including past grants and communications.

Personal data (name, address, and email) provided in connection with a subscription or an order for information material is retained only for as long as you remain a subscriber or for the duration required to fulfill the mailing or order. You consent to the processing of your personal data and may cancel your subscription at any time.

Personal data (name, address, telephone number, and email) provided in connection with registration for training courses, conferences, and other events is retained only for as long as is necessary for the administration of the course or conference, unless participants have been informed of and consented to a different arrangement.

Purposes & Legal Basis

Personal data is processed for evaluating applications, administering grants, reporting/statistics, legal compliance, and administrative tasks. Legal bases include contractual necessity, legal obligation, and consent when applicable.

Retention

Data is retained only as long as required for the above purposes and as mandated by law and national agency guidelines.

Data Sharing

Data may be shared with participating institutions, service providers for processing/storage, and authorities when legally required.

Transfers Outside the EEA

Any transfers to non-EEA countries involve appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.

De Minimis Aid

In most cases, grants awarded under Nordplus do not constitute State aid within the meaning of Article 107 (1) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU). However, where a grant supports an activity that constitutes economic activity under EU State aid rules, the grant may be awarded as de minimis aid under Commission Regulation (EU) 2023/2831. 
 
Where this is relevant, applicants will be asked to declare any de minimis aid received during the previous three years. This enables Nordplus to verify that the applicable de minimis ceilings are respected before a grant is awarded.
 
Under the Nordic Council of Ministers’ State aid model, any de minimis aid is treated as being granted in equal shares by the five Nordic EU- and EEA-states. Consequently, the de minimis-ceiling of EUR 300.000 applies separately in relation to each Member state. In practice, this means that de minimis aid awarded through Nordplus may be accumulated up to a total of EUR 1,5 million provided that the recipient has not already received de minimis aid from other respective Nordic member states that count towards those national ceilings.
