Nordplus is a funding programme that supports educational cooperation between the Nordic and Baltic countries.
Key requirements
Participating organisations and activities must be placed in the Nordic/Baltic countries, including: Åland, Faroe Islands, Greenland. Oraganisations from outside these regions may join, but their costs are not funded.
Mobility projects must involve partners from at least two of the countries Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, ort he autonomous regions of Åland, the Faroe Islands and Greenland, which act as independent countries in Nordplus,
Collaboration projects must involve partner organisations from at least two or three different Nordplus programme countries. .
Every project needs a coordinating institution responsible for the application and managing the grant.
Which programme suits you?
Nordplus is a funding programme that supports educational cooperation between the Nordic and Baltic countries. It includes the following sub-programmes:
Who can apply
- Preschools and kindergartens.
- Primary and secondary schools (general and vocational)
- Vocational/apprenticeship programmes
- Culture schools
- Local education departments (if focused on formal education)
What can be funded
- Project collaborations.
- Class and teacher exchanges.
- Other joint activities that strengthen Nordic-Baltic cooperation in education.
Key requirements
- Mobility projects (e.g. exchanges) must involve formal education institutions (schools, preschools, or culture schools). Other types of organisations may take part in preparatory visits and development projects.
Coordinator role
- Coordinators must be part of the formal education system (public or private). Culture schools may be eligible, check with your national office.

Key requirements
- Minimum of three institutions from three different countries
- If non-academic organisations are involved, at least two must be higher education institutions from different countries
- If the application consists only of mobility activities, a bilateral collaboration with a sending and a hosting institution can be eligible
Coordinator role

Only a higher education institution that is recognised by national authorities can act as a coordinator.

Any organisation working with adult education or lifelong learning, including:
- Adult education institutions and centres
- Institutions for special education for adults
- Research organisations with experience in adult learning
- Cultural institutions (e.g. libraries, museums)
- NGOs, public authorities, and businesses supporting adult learning
What can be funded
- Collaboration projects
- Staff exchanges
- Preparatory visits
- Adult learning courses and internships
Key requirements
- Projects must focus on learning activities aimed at adult learners and/or their educators, whether formal, informal, or non-formal
Who can apply
- Institutions and organisations involved in education and lifelong learning
- Partnerships across sectors e.g.
- schools and universities
- public and private actors
- NGOs, businesses
What can be funded
- Joint projects and networks
- Conferences and seminars
- Development of learning materials or language programmes
Key requirements
- Must involve two or more sectors e.g.
- schools and universities
- education and business
Application limit
- A single organisation can be part of maximum two Nordplus Horizontal applications per call
- Universities and university colleges are exempt from this limit

Any organisation working with Nordic languages and cultures, such as:
- Preschools
- Schools
- Adult education institutions
- Universities
- Research institutions
- NGOs, networks, associations
- Cultural organisations and private companies
What can be funded
- Courses and conferences
- Development of teaching materials and methods
- Projects that promote understanding of Nordic languages
- Language campaigns and seminars
Key requirements
- Activities must involve partners from at least two Nordic/Baltic countries or autonomous regions
Preparatory activites
Once you've found partners for a project, you have the opportunity to apply for funding for a preparatory visit. This visit allows you to discuss and plan your project, and to collaborate on an application together with your partner organization(s).
Study visits are designed to provide new knowledge, experiences, and perspectives. Teachers, school leaders, other educational staff, and employees at education departments are welcome to participate. Visits must take place at organizations involved in the project.
