Growing interest in Nordplus cooperation
The Nordplus Programme Committee has granted 360 applications for just over 13.7 million euro in the last application round.
The Nordplus programme has had an increasing trend of approved applications since the pandemic, which shows that the educational community in the Nordplus area is very interested in traveling and gaining knowledge and experience from neighbouring countries.
-Interest in cooperation in the Nordic and Baltic countries is steadily increasing, which is very positive, says Susanne Hagström Larsson, Head Coordinator of Nordplus.
By the 2:nd of February 2026, 635 applications were submitted to the Nordplus programme applying for a total grant of 31.543.977 euro.
Almost all countries are represented and the overall representation aligns with the relative size of each country´s population. Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania collectively participate at a level proportional to the Baltic population. In contrast, Iceland, Aaland, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands exceed expectations given their relatively small population size.
Applied and granted organisations by country have a similar representation in 2026 as in 2025.

Nordplus is the Nordic Council of Ministers' largest educational programme, which promotes cooperation, networking, exchange and knowledge dissemination in the Nordic and Baltic countries. The programme provides grants to teachers, students and pupils at all levels of education, from pre-school to adult education and higher education, which among other things leads to the exchange of experience, language and cultural understanding.
